London Bound For The Bloggers Market

Finally, the weekend! Hope you are all having a good one? It's been a long week, and I've been basically pining for the weekend right from Monday morning, so lazy Sunday vibes and movies are definitely happening! For now, lets check back to last weekend as I was jaunting around London on my way to The Bloggers Market!

The photos above were taken in some free time before The Bloggers Market whilst Adam and I were wandering around Shoreditch - so with this back drop we found down a backstreet it was only right to take some outfit shots - right? I'm SO in love with this tie up shirt from ASOS that you will have seen a sneak peek of in my Wardrobe Stocktake & Styling post, I'm a little late to the party on the whole tie up game, but I'm so happy I made it eventually - aha!

Top - ASOS / Jeans - TOPSHOP (Now in sale!) / Belt - H&M / Vans - OLD SKOOL / Bag - VINTAGE

For those of you that might not be familiar, The Bloggers Market is an event held by these lovely ladies -
You can shop their wardrobes, whilst hanging out and talking shop with fellow bloggers! This was the 2nd instalment of the market and was held at The Hoxton Hotel Holborn and boy, what a space! Just look at that interior? The perfect mid-century background for plenty of potential photo taking.

I found the market in 'The Apartment' and the room was fit to burst with shoppers by the time I arrived, rifling rails. Naturally, I headed straight towards the batch of Krispy Kreme's and grabbed a drink of Appletiser before joining - I'm nearly always running out of fuel - haha! and headed to check out the room where illustrator Emma Block was sketch lovely portraits of blogger market visitors!

Icouldn't quite believe the amount of clothes and beauty bits that were on sale on Carrie, Lucy, Liv, Kristabel and Dunya's stalls, the ladies had really had a mighty clear out! I think it is awesome that they have created these events for fellow bloggers to snap up awesome pieces at next to nothing, as well as being able to hang with them, meet like minded ladies and have a good natter!

Wardrobe Stocktake & Styling

Going into this A/W I really want to play with my style and push the boundaries of my comfort zone (see this tweet), and with every transition between seasons I like to strip back my wardrobe and take note of what needs to be purchased for the months ahead, as well as what needs to be stored away until the next season, and turf out the pieces I know I won't wear - I like to think of the process as my own personal stocktake. I feel like I've got my basics down, with the plain tees and denim, so today I'm talking the trends I want to relish in and the pieces I want to add to expand my wardrobe.

I'm so into the whole 70's flashback that is going on at the moment, but I've yet to be brave enough to rock it myself. I have recently took the plunge and bought a few introductory pieces (sneak peeks in the snap above) that you will see on here soon, but suede is one trend is really want to get on board with, so it is just as well it is carrying through to the seasonal months! ASOS and Misguided have some awesome pieces at the moment and I'm basically EVERYTHING in ASOS's 'How to do Suede' with ELLE video - FT the babe'n Megan Ellaby! The queen of suede and 70's style.

Another nod to the 70's. Usually combined with aforementioned suede items, I've been eyeing up jackets with awesome fringe detailing. I can't promise I will act on this one, it may be a bit too far out of my comfort zone at the moment, but I'll definitely settle for this bag. Oh yes!

I keep seeing cute a-line skirts popping up whilst scrolling through the internet and I'm really digging them. I may not have worn a skirt in a few years (they aren't really my go to) but after seeing the beautiful Carrie from WishWishWish in these shots it has confirmed that I need at least one in my life. I feel like this cut could be super flattering on my body shape, especially now that I'm trying to get my butt to the gym on a regular basis! Check this denim beauty from Urban Outfitters - yes yes yes!

Lighter weight outerwear options is something I'm lacking in my wardrobe - I've been loyal to my super thick winter coats - so a trench is something I would love to add to my collection. I'm thinking a classic colour like this Topshop Split Back Duster? Teamed with ripped black denim and a white tee, or a pair of dungarees and a jumper. BUT, I am also particularly in love with this ASOS Suede Trench! Oh, the decisions.

I remember owning a bomber jacket as a teen - isn't it funny how trends come back around? A lot of my outwear options are long-line, so a shorter, more relaxed option for Autumn is key for me. Bombers are super easy to style and work best when layered up, which makes dressing for the indecisive British weather a whole lot easier. I'm currently head over heels with this Urban Outfitters Suede Bomber! Isn't she a beauty? The colouring is bang on for Autumn and the suede is a welcome twist on the classic jersey options.

You can never have too much stripe, in my book. Unfortunately, most of mine are looking pretty well loved! I have been on the hunt for some more classic Breton additions and I am currently trying to hunt down this tee I saw on kaffeeundtee's Instagram from UNIQLO, to no avail. (If anyone spots this - help a lady out!) But the dream would be to own a tee from the Comme De Garcons 'Play' collection - if only I had a spare £85!

Alongside the classic Oxford shirt options in my wardrobe, I've been wanting to add an oversized stripe. Something I think would fit perfectly when worn with the dungarees above, or dressed up for an evening out. In fact, I have been eyeing up this &OtherStories Shirt, hoping it will hit the sale.

Speaking of bags, I mentioned in my July Favourties that in the summer months I most carry around canvas totes, but in the A/W I think to switch back to something more structured and, lets be honest, weather appropriate, and ALL the new season MATT&NAT bags have gone straight to the top of my birthday list. They are all ethically made and completely vegan, and remind me of a few of the APC and Whistles collections. Definitely up there wish the best of them and now I have to choose which one I shall make mine...

I'm a trainers girl through and through, but with autumn approaching I'm in the market for a boot, plus I've recently separated with my Topshop chelsea boots so I'm on the hunt for a replacement. Luckily, A/W stock has just started to drop in stores, so I've got some feelers out. I'm not quite sure what I'm after, yet, so hook me up with links below if you have any recommendations!

My Week In 5

5 minutes of your time, 5 details from my week...

You may notice that there has been a little change to the pages of ES in the form of a new banner! The previous set up was created for me by Adam, and fortunately for me, he had some time to squeeze this little project into his schedule! ES is all about taking it easy, relaxing, and just enjoying this space, and as this space evolves I wanted the new branding to really support that. I hope you all love it too! Let me know your thoughts! You can find my boy Adam over at

Speaking of Adam, this week he brought home a stack of new magazines to get stuck into, one being Kinfolk (major boyfriend points going on in this post). In it's own words Kinfolk is a "Slow lifestyle magazine that explores ways for readers to simplify their lives, cultivate community and spend more time with their friends and family". The 'Essentials issue' focusses on achieving more with less. Luxuriously printed, full of beautiful photos and filled to the brim with thoughtful and uplifting articles for Sunday reading.
"The heart of essentialism isn't about asking how little we can live with, but determining what we simply cannot live without"

Boobs. There, I said it. I figured chatting you to about my underwear isn't that far off from a bikini - right? and with that logic - here's the deal.
Bras can be a huge pain in the butt, when it comes to finding the right fit and all that jazz, I'm always opting for comfort, but without the monotonous blacks and whites - and on a lunch time browse around H&M this week [it takes a certain kind of mood to shop for bras, and for some reason I thought my lunch hour was the perfect opportunity] I discovered the perfect range that boasts both comfort and style. Most of this awesome range is non-padded - my personal choice - but no fear as there is plenty of coverage...if you know what I'm saying. The range is made from super soft microfiber (so it kind of does feel like swimwear) and I have to tell you, as we're being open here, they are so. damn. comfy. They hold and shape in all the right places, so even if there is no under-wire present you are definitely not left lacking in the support department. The cuts and prints are super flattering and current, and coming in at £12.99+ per bra, the range is awesome for getting some sassy new additions to your lingerie draw, without blowing your budget! This discovery is a pretty super addition to my week. [can't find online - sorry ladies!]

This little gem turned up - I'm head over heels.
This week brought around the second installment of the Norwich Blogger Meetups, run by local ladies Courtney, Hannah and Justine. I posted about the first meet back in January, which was a blast, I really appreciate the chance to interact with local bloggers and businesses and this time around we were taking things outside and basking in the summer sun! (more like sweating, trying to do yoga in jeans - error). Held at ........, we chatted, swapped blogging tips and tucked into a BBQ feast - a good time had by all! Norwich is fantastic for showcasing local talent and these meet ups prove that our little city is bursting with it.

Speaking of meetups, Who here is excited for The Bloggers Market?? *raises own hand*. This week I booked my train tickets for the jaunt down to London to the event held by the babes that are Carrie, Liv, Kristabel, Lucy and Dunya! I shall be saying goodbye to Adam in central and heading off to the event for some girl time! Rail browsing, good music, and doughnuts! Oh the doughnuts. Who’s in??
