The Trends: Spring Summer 2014| One For The Women

It's that time of the week where I am enjoying one of my precious days off, refusing to leave the house unless needs must (especially as the traditional British weather has reared its ugly head)
Today, as I booted up the laptop and sat down to a cosy day in I started browsing the internet, finding myself being steered towards the trends that will hit us this Spring/Summer 2014. So you can guess what's coming up, right? A little 'catalogue' of the outfits that caught my attention from the catwalks, and my attempt to find a purse friendly high street alternative. As much as I enjoy high end fashion, the high street for my personal style is much more wearable and I'll have some penny's left over. Bonus.
High End:
   Michael Kors SS14                                              Tods SS14
Christopher Kane SS14                                      Christopher Kane SS14

Maison Martin Margiela SS14                               Mulberry SS14

This Spring/Summer is all about adding a feminine and delicate twist to your outfits.
The catwalks have been working masculine tailoring, wide leg trousers and collarless coats/bomber jackets to create a super easy chic look. Fresh pastel colours are carrying on from winter 2013 and are still key, as well as the more classic black and white. Sheer fabrics appear in many collections (perhaps a bit risqué for everyday?), bold metallics and the odd bit of leather is thrown in for good measure.
This Spring/Summer I am hoping to throw myself into the non short/trouser world (my usual go to) and try to mix up my wardrobe with the odd dress and maybe a skirt or 2. No promises though.
Cute jumpers and knee length skirts are popping up everywhere (pictured above) and I think for someone like myself, who usually sticks to shorts, it's the perfect combo to introduce myself into the unknown.
Hit The High Street:
Zara - Printed Sweater
Zara - Backless Crop
Zara - Leather Skirt
Zara - Marble Sweater
Cos - Metallic Dress
Zara - Collarless Coat

Above are just a few of the bits I think are great alternatives to the more high end pieces that make their way down the catwalks. They are so affordable and you'll still look like you've been styled head to toe in high end pieces. I couldn't find the 'perfect' knee length skirt OR wide leg trouser to post into this blog, So I'll leave that one to you!

Have you already invested in your favourite wardrobe piece for SS14?
Let me know!
